So then I tried to defend myself by saying I don't have time or motivation to exercise and that I don't know how to take care of myself. "Pft" was his response. " yes you need to be motivated. but you make time for things you want to do and you learn things you want to learn. You didn't know how to sew and now you sell things you sew. If you want to change, do it."
Hmph.
I guess I shouldn't be complaining about my weight or my need to be active... I guess I need to start doing something about it.
Wish me luck.
Step one taken to improve my self image and health.
I am already overwhelmed and doing bad self-talk... I am calling myself a failure and a sloth without much effort taken to be otherwise. sigh. This is going to be hard.

sigh. it's just so much easier to complain, isn't it.
but mike's right.
come for a swim with me next time you're in town!
or a walk!
or sunday yoga!

You can TOTALLY do it Tami!! Seriously, I have never met anyone who is so "if I want to do it, I will" as you!! And that is totally in a good way. This is no different. And, just in case you want something quick and easy, but not painless, "Jillian's 30 Day Shred" is GREAT!
I'm becoming a fan of surge training or burst training - it's 4 minutes a day 3-5x week - and it's backed by good science and a load of history!
i have something up my sleeve i'd like to chat about with you if you are interested!
I know you can do it, Tami! (Although I think you *always* look beautiful & fit!) You should venture upstairs at the Library to see if they have any videos you could rent.
Here are some exercises I try to do at least once a week:
01 - The Eagle: http://www.oprah.com/health/The-Workout-That-Does-It-All_1/
02 -The Caterpillar Circuit: http://www.oprah.com/health/The-Caterpillar-Circuit/1
03 - The Jaguar: http://www.oprah.com/health/The-Jaguar/1
And I'm putting a sticker dot on the calendar for each day I do some exercise. Helps me a lil' with motivation. (Not too many stickers on there at the moment.) For me it's my big, flabby upper arms and my huge calves that I have always struggled with, it seems.
I know exercising will help me feel better emotionally, physically and mentally, but it's tough to commit & stick to it.
Anyways, I know you can just do it!!!
