Narcisse Snake Dens

We had a wonderful visit with the snakes of Narcisse yesterday.

It was highly anticipated that we would be able to hold a snake. They are typically a little sluggish in the spring, hungry and preoccupied in their mating desires. If you happen upon one on the path or along the fence it is fairly easy to gently grab hold. (if you are brave enough)
Our snake charmer was not so charmed it seemed, and after an hour or two of patiently waiting by the fence and switching up tactics, he was one disappointed snake catcher.

So we changed focus for a while, had a picnic lunch and searched the bush for other creatures... easier to capture...

It was just the break needed to rejuvenate the snake man, ready for another hunt -for an unsuspecting wayward redsided garter snake.
SUCCESS!!

We highly recommend the snake dens as a day trip. Have fun! (and gloves were a good idea, they assist in bravery)
