Snake Dens

Last week we went to check out the snake dens at Narcisse. Wow! It was neat. It was a long drive and a long walk, there are many informational kiosks along the way and when it is sunny the snakes are very active so there is a good chance you can get up close and personal (which we nearly did). We touched the back of this guy peeking out of the board walk and came close to holding another one, but mommy got squeamish at the last minute. It was a very cool field trip...but hurry they don't stick around long, you have a week or so to see them before they disperse to their summer abode.

eww gross!

Man! Homeschooling is fun! Did you know that when you get a cut... your blood dripping out of your wound is sending platelets in to clog up your cut and webby stuff called Fibrin forms that traps up the helper red and white blood cells that go to work repairing and eating up germs (the white ones do the eating) and then, under that scab, new skin forms tightening up under the scab so eventually the scab falls off. AND did you know that big strong construction dudes who leave their tools lying around get really squeamish when the kid who lives in the house they are working on comes around the corner licking his bloody hand (fake blood-made with corn syrup, red food colouring and chocolate)... We love the gross practical jokes around here! The body has some pretty good gags to take advantage of!!! When we are done making scabs and blood we will move on to the digestive system-hmmm Which unsuspecting family member will get the puke gag? ....mwahhahahah....

hmmm
my days have been uneventful, I got momentarily stuck in a snow drift somewhere in st.andrews on friday with a smirking man outside my car offering no help what-so-ever... I had to show him that I was no helpless stupid broad and willed the car out of the drift witha secret cheer and triumphant grin of my own.
I led a craft at a homeschool retreat, and felt the buzz, the thrill, the desire to teach again... or at least to pursue something of the likes. I was asked by several of the women if I would teach at parties for kids or other events... i should consider what I would charge and wether that is something I would be interested in...
I sat througha full day of training to become a mentor with the women's health clinic. it was interesting and i am curious how it will play out with this group of ladies, it seems like a wide range of personalities...I will enjoy the relationships built in this group...
I love my sister's new blog. She is inspiring and creative and beautiful. and a very good sister even though she thinks she is a bad sister... I understand busy life and I know she loves me.
