an outing with my niece.

Lindsay and I went out today one way... and came back another.

Lindsay has been growing her hair for about 4 years with the intention of donating it to a localwig making place that makes wigs for kids with cancer or hair loss from a variety of medical interventions.
I decided to join her.

Today we did it. The last month or so has been a time of wavering with our decision for both of us (that's a lot of hair to part with!) Today the drive to the salon was one with loads of deep breathing and positive self talk and encouraging each other!
Even though we both knew we were going to do it and that it was a good good thing, It really was a hard thing to do.

She went first and it was exciting to see her take the plunge, even with her hesitations... we were both blown away with how light our heads felt!

Then it was my turn...

And then we went out for a hot chocolate at Starbucks to celebrate and show off our new looks... such pretty girls.
